It's no secret that girls ages 9+ start to lose confidence as they grow older. Add in a tough and unforgiving sport to the mix and it's a recipe for low self-esteem.
Gymnasts, more than any other athletes, need confidence. Confidence for their sport. And confidence for navigating life as a female pre-teen and teen.
While building up confidence takes time, the good news is that your gymnast can do small things to boost her confidence and feel better immediately.
One of those things is to read confidence-boosting statements when she needs a quick pick-me-up.
While affirmations are great, sometimes when your gymnast isn't feeling very confident an affirmation can make her feel like a fake. Telling herself "I can do this" when she doesn't feel like she can will actually hurt her self-confidence. So there is a time and place for certain affirmations and confidence-boosting statements. Be sure to pick the statements that resonate the most with your gymnast at this time in her journey.
I've created 10 confidence-boosting statements for your gymnast below. Grab them HERE and print them out. You can even laminate them or punch a hole in the corners and bind them with a ring.
Which one of these resonates the most with you? Which one do you think your gymnast needs to hear most? Let me know in the comments below.
And be sure to share your pictures if you download these statements and print them out! I love seeing gymnasts using my downloads.
Share these Confidence-Boosting Cards with another gymnast who might need them!
